There is not a capability in EndNote to do this, but there is a workaround!

1. Sync your EndNote library by selecting the circular arrow button in the top left corner of the screen.

2. In Word document, go to the EndNote tab in the top toolbar and select "Update Citations and Bibliography"

3. Now you should be able to see the Word document citations in your EndNote library on the side toolbar.

4. To view citations in a specific chapter or section, copy/paste that section into a new Word document.
5. In new Word document, go to the EndNote tab in the top toolbar and select "Update Citations and Bibliography"
6. Go back to EndNote and view the new Word document in the left toolbar.
7. Create a new group based from the new Word document

**This works best with EndNote 21 because you can view citations cited in a word document in a tab of the EndNote toolbar
